Glitches, Tricks, and Other Tech

This section lists discoveries that can be considered as exploitative/unintended tech in the game on their own. It does NOT include smart parkour (parkour that takes no advantages of any tech) and/or routes that are made up by these tricks.

Date Discoverer Trick Name Description VOD
January 28, 2015 THIS_ONE_ASSHOLE Elevator Button Glitch Press the elevator button for the floor you are currently on, and then spam the button for the floor you want to go to. When you see the talos icon at the bottom of the screen, reset warp and you will instantly reach the new floor. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9Vrg-2at08
January 30, 2015 MousseMoose Guided Jump Clipping Perform a regular guided jump while using other cubes or world geometry to block your path. This will cause you to teleport to the guided location, clipping past any obstacles in the way. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYkkiCopocg
January 30, 2015 MousseMoose Bump Jump If you jump just before hitting a sloped rock, it is possible to boost yourself upwards and gain extra height from the slope. FPS dependent. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mnp5Bcwcj4
January 31, 2015 MousseMoose Item Snipe In some cases, it is possible to pick up an item behind a wall with near pixel perfect accuracy, where it would normally be unobtainable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KU4d0nbRJ_o
February 2, 2015 MousseMoose Cube Jump Grab a cube across an open barrier, and hold jump. Upon reaching the cube (in certain circumstances), you gain upwards momentum. FPS and movement speed affect trajectory. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHcFZPA-DXs
February 2, 2015 (needs citation)  ??? Post-Patch Jammer Glitch By lining up at a precise point at an open barrier, it is possible to bring yourself and the jammer that was holding it open through the barrier.  ???
February 3, 2015 Okayden Cube Elevator By placing a cube in a corner near semi-solid objects (e.g. specific tree types), the cube will begin to levitate upwards. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8AmbkSa_uA&t=1m21s
February 8, 2015 Gates_of_Bates Item Jump Place an item below you and jump at the same time. The item will push you backwards and slightly upwards. If performed in front of a sloped wall or object (e.g. tree), it provides increased height. FPS dependent. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOkL6cn8QR8
February 18, 2015 MousseMoose Laser Overlap Glitch Walking through the beam of a laser will provide a short window where it will not be blocked by anything further along its path, but it can still connect. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Km8JyaF4ymc
April 1, 2015 MousseMoose Paint Jump Drop a paint can and jump at the same time. Gives greater height than an item jump. FPS dependent. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZg_bpULk6g
???  ??? Perfect Item Jump Place an item a small distance away, and jump at the same time. Provides additional height over an item jump but is more challenging. Does not work at 60 FPS.  ???
??? Nozu Nozu Jump (Type 1) Place an item and jump at the same time, then grab the item while being boosted upwards. Provides more height than a normal item jump.  ???
??? Nozu Nozu Jump (Type 2) Place an item, then jump and pick it up at the same time. Depending on the wall, may provide more height than a type 1 jump.  ???
??? Nozu Nozu Paint Jump See Nozu jumps.  ???
???  ??? X Drop Pressing X will drop an item at your feet. This removes its collision, and also will interact with whatever it was pointed at.  ???
???  ??? Platform+Recorder Ceiling Clip Hold up a platform with a recorded version of yourself and jump onto it. Then have your recorded self slowly maneuver underneath a ceiling. You will find that you clip through the ceiling and can jump through it.  ???
???  ??? Float glitch Hold up a platform with a recorded version of yourself and jump onto it. Then have your recorded self collide with a semi-solid object (e.g. signpost, certain tree types). Your recorded self will end abruptly and you will begin to float in the last moved direction, unable to move or interact with anything.  ???
2015 Kittaye Buffered Jump Perform a normal jump. When you land, you will notice that your view bobs down slightly before raising back up to the normal position. When your view bobs down as low as it goes, jump again. This will give you slightly more height than a regular jump.  ???
April 16, 2015 Kittaye Guided Slide Pausing the game, holding jump (to guided jump), then unpausing the game will cause you to slide toward your target. If you block your path late in this slide with an item, you will instead teleport to the jump location. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcbQuG2LJZc
 ???  ??? 2 Cube Stack  ???  ???
 ???  ??? 2 Cube Boost  ???  ???
January 14, 2016 MousseMoose Fan Slide Perform a guided slide towards an active ground fan. In some cases this will thrust you forwards extremely quickly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMRjpgSBTKI
???  ??? Low FPS Jump Jumping while moving forward covers more distance when performed at a lower FPS (15-20).  ???
 ???  ??? Door Glitch  ???  ???
 ???  ??? Item Duplication  ???  ???
???  ??? Double Grab Glitch Place an item on one side of an open barrier, and pick it up from the other side. This will cause you to slide towards the item. Once you pass the barrier, immediately grab another item nearby. You will appear to be holding the first item, but as soon as you drop the item being held, it will transform into the second item. The first item will disappear. Has other strange side-effects.  ???
???  ??? Half Clip By placing a connector at a specific position near you and jumping continuously, it is possible to clip through some inward corners. FPS dependent.  ???
???  ??? Fan Snipe During takeoff from a fan, there are a few frames to grab the item powering the fan.  ???
???  ??? Corner Climb At high framerates, jumping into certain corners will cause you to be stuck, and give you an extra jump. This lets you gain height by getting in essence a double-jump.  ???
January 25, 2018 Kittaye Barrierless Cube Jump Guided slide towards a cube. Aim to pick up the cube at the same moment you teleport onto it. Done correctly, you will gain upwards momentum. FPS and slide movement trajectory dependent. Near frame-perfect trick. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnqJQdBerEA
June 10, 2018 Kittaye Extended Ladder Glitch Perform a normal ladder glitch with a cube nearby. Once you are at the lowest point on the ladder, guided slide to the cube. This will greatly alter your position on the ladder. FPS dependent. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81Sfx4cRivk
